MSW Field Profiles 2018-19

MSW Leon Supsic Jr. 2018-2019 Agency Name: Community Action Committee Profile: The Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley is a non-profit organization, focused on improving the quality of life for Lehigh Valley residents by building a community in which all people have access to economic opportunity, the ability to pursue that opportunity, and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. Field Placement Responsibilities: As a member of the planning department, my responsibilities consist of submitting request for funding proposals to various local, state, and federal funding sources in an effort to financially support the various subsidiaries and programs that operate under the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley. I am also engaged in the efforts of a racial and ethnic justice advocacy group “Estamos Listos” or “we are ready” which seeks to ensure quality living conditions for the families affected by Hurricane Maria and forced to evacuate Puerto Rico and relocate to the Lehigh Valley. Future Goals: After receiving my MSW, I plan to obtain my LCSW. I will also pursue my DSW after the required two years in the field and aspire to hold lead position of a substance abuse and recovery institution. Department of Social Work
