The 1990s
Audrey Bordonaro M ’90
had
paintings juried into the New Arts
Program in Kutztown. The juried
art was displayed at the 25th
annual International Invitational
Salon of Small Works show at the
New Arts Gallery in Kutztown.
Michelle (Anthony) Dallago ’90
was
selected to become the early child-
hood program director at the
Pottsville campus of the McCann
School of Business & Technology.
Dallago, the founder and owner of
Perception Training Center Inc.,
Pottsville, a Montessori-based
learning environment for pre-
school and kindergarten-age
children, began teaching as an
adjunct instructor at McCann
in 2009. She served as a field
experience coordinator and was
promoted to program director
on July 1.
Lamont Kapec ’90
has been selected
for the distinguished honor of a
position with the Senior Executive
Service (SES). The SES is a corps
of men and women who administer
public programs at the top levels
of federal government. Kapec has
served more than 26 years with the
Army Medical Department.
David Hessen ’91
has been hired by
Haller Enterprises as its marketing
director. Lessen has more than 20
years of marketing and advertising
experience.
The 1980s
Michelle Byrne ’81
had her painting,
“Manhattan Movement” juried into
the American Impressionist Society’s
15th annual show at Abend Gallery
in Denver. The exhibit ran from
Oct. 2 – Nov. 1.
John Hart M ’82
was promoted to
senior vice president of medical servic-
es at Lehigh Valley Health Network. He
previously served as vice president of
Medical Staff Services.
Eric Schaeffer ’84
will direct the revival
of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick
Loewe’s popular musical “Gigi,” which
will debut next year in Washington, D.C.
Joseph Schupp ’84
has been appoint-
ed Customers Bank’s community
development officer for Pa. and N.J.
Gerald Kulp ’85
was installed as
pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church,
Bethlehem. Bishop Samuel Zeiser
of the Lutheran Church in America
presided.
Dynise Balcavage ’86
was inducted
into the Shenandoah Valley High
School Wall of Fame in honor of her
professional accomplishments.
Balcavage’s literary résumé consists
of three mass market vegetarian
cookbooks and 11 nonfiction books
for young readers on a wide range of
topics. Balcavage is also an associate
creative director at Digitas Health.
Dr. Ann Bieber M ’89
has been named
the fifth president of Lehigh Carbon
Community College. Bieber has served
in various roles at the college since
1981, including most recently as
interim president.
Guido Pichini ’74
was re-elected to a
fourth consecutive term as chairman
of the Pennsylvania State System of
Higher Education’s (PASSHE) Board
of Governors. Three years ago, Pichini
became the first PASSHE university
alumnus to chair the board.
Thomas Ardizzone ’75
had two of
his videos featured in an installation
at the Allentown Art Museum.
David Cerulli ’76
was a featured
artist at a show exhibiting sculptural
work inspired by Coney Island at
the Carter Burden Gallery in New
York. Cerulli, who is a sculptor, has
created a number of commissioned
large-scale sculptures and has
been a finalist in several international
sculpture competitions.
Marybeth Evans ’76
has been elected
to the Board of Governors of the
South Carolina Academy of Authors
for a 3-year term beginning in Jan.
2015. Evans is the community services
coordinator for the Anderson County
Library System in Anderson, S.C.
Paul Harryn ’76
donated his
abstract, interpretative painting
“Odyssey” to KU. The work depicts
the 10-year homeward journey to
Ithaca of the Greek mythological
hero Odysseus following the defeat
of the Trojan army.
Howard Chandler ’77
and
Vicki
(Turner) Chandler ’76
recently cele-
brated their 36th wedding anniversary.
They have two sons, Chris and Rob,
and a granddaughter, Sofie. Howie
works from home as an insurance
consultant and Vicki, who recently
wrote a book, “Heart Eyes: Beth and
the Bullies,” to help adults empower
bystanders of bullying, is an adjunct
professor at Cairn University.
Colleen (Flannery) Paulson ’79
retired
on June 16 after 35 years of teaching
fourth grade in the Wyomissing Area
School District.
