MSW Field Profiles 2018-19

MSW Tanya M. Ebling 2018-2019 Agency Name: Montgomery County OCY Profile: Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth is a public child welfare government agency responsible for accepting and investigating reports of child maltreatment and is organized into specific divisions. The purpose of the agency is to preserve and strengthen children and families within the practice setting of the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Field Placement Responsibilities: My field placement responsibilities at Montgomery County OCY are within the Intake Division. I will be investigating referrals consisting of sexual abuse allegations and participating in scheduled interviews with law enforcement at the Mission Kids Advocacy Center. I will be responsible for working with families through the entire case process from the time the referral is received through the determination. I will be researching and analyzing the overall process in terms of the coordination and collaboration between the agency, Mission Kids, law enforcement, and families. I will be working with all entities to develop policies and procedures within this specified area in order to establish a definitive process to better support the children and families for which we serve. Future Goals: My future plans are to graduate with my MSW, take the licensing exam, retire from OCY, secure a position within a school system utilizing both my MSW and M. Ed degrees, work in private practice at the beach. Department of Social Work
