MSW Field Profiles 2018-19

MSW Lucy Kalista 2018-2019 Agency Name: VA-Veteran's Justice Outreach Profile: Veteran's Affairs focuses on serving individuals who served in the military and their families. Veteran's Justice Outreach Program works with veterans who have criminal charges. The program works to help Veterans to enter society as a functional member by helping the veteran meet their individual needs. Field Placement Responsibilities: My field placement responsibilities focus on the veteran population, specifically those who have been convicted of a crime. I attend treatment team meetings and collaborate with other disciplines involved with the veteran's care. I advocate for the veteran's to receive the services and consequences that will best benefit the individual. Consequences are supported by research informed practice and practice informed research. I get to experience different environments in which the program works their practice. Future Goals: My future goals are to attain my LCSW. I plan on either working with Veterans and/ or working in the medical setting. Department of Social Work
