BSW Katie Gorey 2020 Agency Name: Friend Inc. Community Services Profile: Friend, Inc. Community Services is a not - for - profit, multi - service agency that supports the well - being of families and individuals in need and is committed to strengthening the lives of those living in Northeastern Berks County. Field Placement Responsibilities: While interning at Friend Inc. Community Services it is my responsibility to take part in a prescreening process over the phone and assess the needs of clients through an intake process to determine a service plan. As an intern I am required to maintain regular contacts with agencies, schools, and other resources on behalf of the clients and advocate for the needs of the clients. It is my responsibility as an intern to maintain confidentiality and monitor files with intake forms, service plans, records obtained from appropriate resources, and other pertinent information. I am to attend weekly staff meetings and engage in supervision with my field instructor once a week. Future Goals: When I graduate from Kutztown University with my BSW, I plan to continue to graduate school and obtain my MSW. Then I will run rehabilitative programs as well as re - entry groups.
