BSW Ryan Griffin - Silveri 2020 Agency Name: LGBT Center of Greater Reading Profile: My name is Ryan Griffin - Silveri. I am a social work student at Kutztown University attaining my BSW and graduating in 2021. For my senior year internship, I have been placed at the LGBT Center of Greater Reading who provide services that cater to the LGBT population in the Reading, PA area, including but not limited to support groups, outreach programs, LGBT youth and the older members of the LGBT community Field Placement Responsibilities: While completing my 9 Educational Policy Competencies during my internship, my responsibilities are co - facilitating a youth group called VOICES, collaborating with adoption and foster agencies in developing programs to engage LGBT individuals interested in fostering and adopting. I will also be responsible in brokering or linking individuals of the LGBT community to services and programs which the Center provides. These programs include support groups ranging from the young to 18 - 49 and 50+. They also provide support to Trans and non - binary individuals and provide references and referrals in collaboration with 30 social services agencies and other providers. Future Goals: My future goals are to work with veterans by providing counseling services and brokering services and programs that are needed Department of Social Work
