BSW Field Profiles 2020-21

BSW Kimberlyn Seaman 2020 Agency Name: Friends Inc. Community Services Profile: Friends Inc. Community Services focuses on food insecurity and provides clients with referrals to other agencies if needed. Friends has a food pantry available for the surrounding area, as well as students of Kutztown University. Field Placement Responsibilities: As the BSW intern at Friends Inc., I complete tasks such as taking part in the phone interview to prescreen potential clients, assess strengths and needs during the intake process in order to create a service plan, fulfill the social work role of advocate for the needs of the clients, and maintain and update files such as service plans and intake forms. On top of the office work, I also assist with the satellite food pantry on campus on a weekly basis. Future Goals: After completion of the BSW program, I hope to go on to obtain my master ’ s degree in social work. Once I graduate with my MSW, I strive to work with domestic violence survivors.
