BSW Field Profiles 2020-21

BSW Cindy Le 2020 Agency Name: Berks County Children and Youth Profile: Berks County Children and Youth Services is assigned to protect children up to the age of eighteen. They work towards protecting the children that are abused and neglected. Our goals are to assure their physical and emotional wellbeing is safe as provided by law, and to preserve, strengthen and empower their families. Our mission overall is to investigate all reports of child maltreatment in Berks County. Field Placement Responsibilities: I am in the intake Department at BCCYS. I regularly receive cases that require an initial contact with the client. Documentation of these contacts is completed through submission of case notes to the file. The agency also interfaces with other community resource agencies and helping professionals, which support the children and families that we work with on a regular basis. Future Goals: After I receive my bachelor ’ s degree, I want to pursue graduate school. I would like to move to the southern United States to work in child welfare. One day I would love to start a non - profit organization specializing in supporting children. Department of Social Work
