MSW Amanda Thomson 2022 Agency Name: Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 Profile: The Colonial Intermediate Unit focuses on building up students through relationships and services. I have been placed in their partial hospitalization program at Clear Run Intermediate. This department focuses on addressing behaviors with coping skills to enhance students’ ability to regulate their emotions. Field Placement Responsibilities: In Colonial Intermediate Unit, I will assist with grades third through fifth. I will redirect behaviors and attitudes while interacting with clients during milieu therapy. I will also attend interagency meetings and review treatment plans and biopsychosocial of clients. I will be helping with focus groups and attending individual therapy sessions with my field instructor. Over time, I will run individual and group sessions to work on coping skills, behavior management techniques, identifying triggers, and expressing emotions safely and age-appropriately.
