I am interning with the Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities (CADD). At CADD, their goal is to provide assistance to families and individuals with disabilities by utilizing a multidisciplinary team to provide social, emotional, and behavioral services. Field Placement Responsibilities: As an intern student at CADD, I will be engaging with families through a variety of different opportunities that include feedback sessions, new diagnostic, individual, and consultations. I will also be reviewing assessments and observing group therapy sessions. I will also have the chance to attend staff meetings, presentations, trainings, and safety discussions. I will work collaboratively with different therapists at the agency to discuss case presentations and receive feedback to guide my future practice. I will also be able to observe the planned change process from the initial intake to the referral or termination of services. Future Goals: My future goals include obtaining my MSW license, working as a behavioral specialist for individuals with disabilities, and continuing to volunteer for environmental justice organizations.
