Field Placement Responsibilities: In this field placement, my primary focus is in the Emergency Department (ED) where I am working on preventing readmissions and decreasing ED visits in order to reduce medical costs and improve health outcomes. I am also responsible for coordinating the complex discharge planning needs of patients, providing supportive counseling, conducting psychosocial assessments, and intervening with designated patient populations across the continuum of care. Future Goals: My goals include maintaining my social work practice in emergency medicine, exploring macro-level practice, opening a non-profit dog rescue, and obtaining my certification in service dog training.
