MSW Field Profiles 2019-20

Jean Gerard Preval 2019 Agency Name: Tower Health Psychiatric Emergency Services Profile: Tower Health Psychiatric Emergency Services at the Reading Hospital is in Reading. This hospital is a non-profit organization which provides comprehensive psychiatric emergency to all Berks county residents. However, those individuals who need psychiatric inpatient would be referred to hospitals or agencies whose provide long term psychiatric treatment under the mental Health Procedures Act. Field Placement Responsibilities: My responsibilities are to assist all people, adhere to patients' confidentiality, follow the NASWCode of Ethics, and empower those individuals to be inclusive in their psychiatric care. My other responsibilities are to complete comprehensive assessment for all patients arriving at PES and determine level of care needed, performprogram improvement/quality insurance for every patient to obtain authorization for their services, follow the referral/admission procedure by assuring the safety of all patients. All of which should be completed in conjunction and application of the family in the environment perspective. Future Goals: I wish to work in a mental health setting using all three social work levels of practice, obtain my LSW, and within three years, acquire more knowledge in this rewarding field and pursue my DSW.
