MSW Field Profiles 2019-20

MSW Lauren Fischer 2019 Agency Name: Community Action Committee of the LV Profile: Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley is a non-profit corporation working with and for the low-income residents of the Lehigh Valley in order to combat poverty to improve the quality of life in the Lehigh Valley by building a community in which all people have access to economic opportunity, the ability to pursue that opportunity, and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. Field Placement Responsibilities: The field assignment will include learning about the day-to-day operations and management of a nonprofit organization; program planning and development; fund development, contract compliance, and monitoring; research; advocacy; community organizing; and public relations. Future Goals: In the future I hope to assist in making change a reality through advocacy- helping the greater community to operate more like a village-helping one another for the greater good of all.
