MSW Field Profiles 2019-20

MSW Felicia Eckert 2018 Profile: The Valley Youth House Synergy Project is a street outreach program designed to help runaway, homeless, street and unstably housed youth in Allentown, PA. The project offers survival supplies, education on how to stay safe on the streets or in the woods, and a mobile drop-in center for youth to have a hot meal and find relief from the outdoors.." The health care professionals at St. Joe's strive to ensure patients and their families are met with respect and empathy throughout the healing process. Field Placement Responsibilities: Alongside the Street Outreach coordinators, I provide homeless youth with survival supplies such as food, clothing, transportation and tents. We also assist youth with getting off the streets by linking themwith the appropriate community resources and providing informal counseling, if desired. Future Goals: When I graduate from Kutztown University with my BSW, I plan to pursue my graduate degree in Social Work. For the future, I look forward to discovering a specific population to engage and assist in the scope of my social work practice. so as to enhance the lives of older adults and to better support their families as their loved ones age.
