BSW Field Profiles 2021-22

BSW Andrew Harron 2021 Agency Name: Make The Road PA Profile: Make The Road PA is a member lead organization that seeks to amplify the voices of the people and amplify them to achieve the respect and dignity that every human being deserves. They also have a focus on radical equity, and acknowledge the need for intersectionality in our activism to overcome all oppressions and exploitations that plague our communities. Field Placement Responsibilities: As a part of the field placement, this is an essential, and vital experience, to fully understand what working in the field looks like, and working directly with members of the community. Some of my responsibilities have been engaging students on campus, and trying to get them registered to vote. I have also been supporting a redistricting campaign, to ensure communities have proper representation, as well as candidates that support their values. I also have been assisting with content creation that will be used for member training. Future Goals: To work in community organizing, and be able to advocate, and help meet the needs for the community I serve. I also plan to pursue my MSW, and allow myself to better serve my clients, and the community. Department of Social Work
