BSW Field Profiles 2020-21

BSW Marshae Batchelor 2020 Agency Name: Children's Home of Reading Profile: This agency provides services to at - risk youth in Berks County, Schuylkill County, and Lehigh County; however, it also provides services to 23 other nearby counties. The primary goal of this non - profit is to offer a myriad of services, such as community - based services, educational programs, mental and behavioral health services, and residential programs for kids and their families in crisis. Field Placement Responsibilities: My field placement responsibilities provide me with great exposure to several factors of the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network in Pennsylvania. I have opportunities to complete tasks virtually, as well as in - person. However, that depends on the degree of comfortability from the families. Tasks that I will be assigned are to co - facilitate Child Preparation sessions, write Child Profiles, participate in Permanency Support Groups, observe adoption finalizations, visit pre - adoptive families, and attend matching events. Future Goals: I ’ m interested in Criminal Justice Reform, and I ’ m committed to seeking social justice for underrepresented juveniles in detention centers.
