BSW Kayla Samec 2020 Agency Name: Luzerne County Children & Youth Services Profile: Children and Youth Services Agency provides child welfare services designed to protect children from abuse, neglect, and enable children. The agency promotes and protect the health, welfare, and well - being of children. If/when the goal is to reconnect and reunify the child with the family in an effective and timely manner, while ensuring the safety of the child is being properly met. Field Placement Responsibilities: During my placement at Luzerne County Children and Youth Services, I will be working in and within teams, staff, and supervisors, mediating tension and conflict situations, managing decision making processes, and planning meetings for in - home care/ wellness check visits. I will be an advocate on behalf of the children in the agency or foster care homes, be an evaluator for appropriate protocols being followed thoroughly within families, caseworkers, and the agency. Future Goals: Working as a full - time caseworker at Children & Youth Services. Also, attending graduate school as a part - time student at Marywood University for a master ’ s degree in social work . Department of Social Work
