Innovision 2025-26

Kutztown University hosted the 2025 Sustainability Summit on November 5, bringing together students, industry professionals, and community partners to highlight progress in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. The event opened with a check presentation recognizing the energy rebate from the Hawkinson Welcome Center renovation, underscoring the university’s ongoing commitment to sustainable campus operations. From there, the space quickly transformed into a hub of ideas and innovation. Attendees connected during a networking session while exploring student research posters focused on sustainable business solutions. Dean Anne Carroll welcomed guests and officially opened the program before students presented their work for further discussion and evaluation. The summit also featured keynote speaker Michael Gibson, past chair of the Energy & Environment Committee of the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. His presentation “From Campus to Corporation: Energy-Smart Strategies for Business Success,” emphasized practical ways businesses can integrate energy-smart strategies into their operations. Industry leaders—including representatives from Earth Forward, Clean Energy, and Clear Results—further reinforced the summit’s mission of connecting classroom learning with real-world sustainability leadership. 15
