MSW Field Profiles 2019-20

MSW Yonette Webster-Hodge 2019 Agency Name: Council on Chemical Abuse Profile: Council on Chemical Abuse is known as a bride to addiction resources. The organization was established since 1972, the council has served in a lead role, by offering the necessary resources needed to help combat the serious problems of substance abuse and addiction crisis in Berks County and surrounding neighborhoods. Field Placement Responsibilities: As an MSW intern at the Council on Chemical Abuse, I will perform several roles because of the client's agency serves. These roles include an evaluator, facilitator, and consultant. My task is to work on the safe use, and storage of medication in the home, and the disposal process. To complete this task I will be participating in meetings, networking with other professionals and educating members in the community about the storage and disposal process. I am also responsible for contacting all the pharmacies in Berks County to evaluate what resources they have available to dispose of unused medication. The goal is to help reduce mishandling of medication to avoid drug overdose. Future Goals: I would like to increase my professional knowledge in research on mental health. My main career goal is the become a healthcare social worker or a school counselor. Department of Social Work
