MSW Field Profiles 2019-20

MSW Joella Smith 2019 Agency Name: New Vitae Wellness and Recovery Profile: New Vitae is a for-profit, social service organization that uses a trauma-informed care model and multidisciplinary approaches to serve individuals withmental health diagnoses, TBI, and addiction. The services that New Vitae provides includes an outpatient clinic that consists of group and individual therapy, along with residential housing, veteran services, and drug and alcohol IOP. Field Placement Responsibilities: My field placement responsibilities include providing individual therapy and maintaining a caseload of individuals withMH diagnoses, all while observing other therapists and group facilitators. In this role, I will be responsible for updating treatment plans, completing assessments, and writing professional case notes. Along with therapy, I will also act as a group facilitator, facilitating groups such as the Employment Skills group and a Women's group at both their Recovery Center and Personal Care Home. Another responsibility will be to provide more resources to New Vitae's Care Coordinators by creating a Case Management Resource Guide and introducing them to more assessment tools. Future Goals: My future goals include becoming certified in Clinical trauma and using skills learned from group facilitation to assist in trauma-related trainings. Department of Social Work
