MSW Field Profiles 2019-20

MSW MorganMiriello 2019 Agency Name: Haven Behavioral Hospital Profile: Haven Behavioral Hospital is an acute psychiatric hospital that offers care and treatment to individuals suffering from mental illness, mood disorders, and other mental health issues. Field Placement Responsibilities: I am responsible for creating treatment and discharge plans and completing psychosocial assessments. During the psychosocial assessments I practice the planned change process steps engagement and assessment. I engage with a patient while assessing their previous history in regards to mental health, family, substance abuse, and social life. By creating and updating treatment plans I evaluate the patient on weekly progress. Then when a discharge date is determined, I link the patient to outpatient services and act as a broker. Additionally, I am an educator and facilitator while running groups. Future Goals: My future plan is to continue my career in the mental health field; once I gain enough experience I would like to further my education, receive my DSW, and become a professor.
