1 Welcome to the Multicultural Center The Office of Multicultural Services is an administrative department. The physical location of the department is in the K.U. Multicultural Center. All operations and functions of the Center are preformed through Multicultural Services. The two terms are often used interchangeably in the community as well as in the department. Serving all Kutztown University students and employees, the primary purpose of the Center is to provide activities and services focusing on the exploration of cultural, racial identity, social awareness, social exchange, and multicultural competencies, as well as assisting with personal and academic growth and leadership skills development. We attempt to provide a safe and welcoming environment conducive to and encompassing concepts of community and unity. Multicultural Center Mission “Develop positive, forward-thinking individuals from diverse backgrounds by assisting them with attaining their academic goals, and by promoting multiculturalism; helping them to become responsible global citizens." Multicultural Center Goals/Objectives Leadership: To develop positive, forward-thinking individuals and responsible citizens: by providing and facilitating opportunities for leadership experiences, academic growth and community engagement. Scholarship: To assist students from diverse backgrounds with attaining their academic goals: by serving as a resource and an advocate to them and encouraging academic excellence .
