SPRING 2019 | 15 SPRING 2019 | 15 WOMEN’S PANEL On March 27, the College of Business hosted the ELC Women’s Panel. Six successful women discussed the road to entrepreneurial excellence, focusing on the strategies and tools that lead to the creation of a thriving and vibrant business. The discussion was moderated by Ms. Lori Donofrio-Galley, the Executive Director of Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce. The panel included Janis Ferry (Licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent at USHEALTH Advisors), Kristi Gage-Linderman (COO of Gage Personnel), Abigail Mirarchi (Owner and President of Accelerated Instructional Media, Inc.), Denice Schaeffer (Multimedia Sales Manager at The Reading Eagle Company), Amy Sheller (Co-Owner of Abominable Productions) and Marcy Tocker (Founder of Grey Muzzle Manor). After each panelist introduced herself and her business, they shared their approach to goal setting, how they got into their positions and the challenges they faced along the way. In a separate discussion, the panel members discussed networking and how beneficial it is for their individual businesses and professional careers. All panelists agreed that even though it can be hard coming out of one’s shell, networking is something that needs to be learned and will be useful through the progression of your professional career. At the end of the discussion, each panelist agreed that anyone can get better at presenting themselves and making connections. Attendees were welcome to network with the panelists and each other at the luncheon following the event.
