12 | INNOVISION MAGAZINE THE COURAGE FACTOR AdvancingWomen’s Excellence (AWE) hosted their inaugural event, The Courage Factor. A panel discussion that included Michelle Ellision, Caitlin Faas, Laurie Grube and Adrean Turner focused on advice to help women find their voices and take risks to advance their careers. Michelle Ellison works in Financial Development at the Red Cross as a Regional Philanthropy Officer. Dr. Caitlin Faas is a developmental psychology professor at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD. Laurie Grube is the Vice President and Regional manager for Riverview bank. Adrean Turner is a Certified Coach, Speaker and Professional Development Trainer. AWE is an active network of women at Kutztown University consisting of alumni, students, administrators and educators. The focus of AWE is to facilitate professional connections and dialogue between experienced alumni with successful careers, those seeking opportunities and exploring career paths, recent graduates transitioning to the world of work, and students preparing for that transition in the future.
