FACULTY RESEARCH Gregory Kaufinger delivered Spring 2026 Chambliss Research Lecture on March 10, presenting “Sparks that Start Fires: How Everyday Curiosity Ignites Academic Breakthroughs.” His talk traced how a question about an unused gift card led to research on earnings management with implications for transparency, governance, and business decision-making. The Chambliss Faculty Research Award, established in 2004 by Carlson R. Chambliss, honors exceptional research and scholarship and is awarded only once in a faculty member’s career. THE CHAMBLISS FACULTY RESEARCH AWARD Dr. Soojin Kim Earns International Best Paper Award Dr. Soojin Kim, chair of Kutztown University’s Sport Management department, has received the 2025 Best Paper Award from the International Journal of Business in Sports, Tourism & Hospitality Management (JBSM). Her award-winning article, “Understanding Gen Z’s Response to CSR Messaging: How Message Clarity and Perceived Motives Drive Engagement,” explores how organizations can better connect with younger audiences.
