SECONDARY EDUCATION WITH SPECIALIZATION IN TEACHING The Master of Education in Secondary Education with a Specialization in Teaching is a 36 credit program designed to accelerate teacher certification for students who have already demonstrated content mastery through their un- dergraduate program. This cohort-based program allows working professionals to explore career development opportunities, conduct research in the field, and network with like-minded professionals. COURSEWORK FLEXIBILITY The M.Ed in Secondary Education with a Specialization in Teaching offers practical fieldwork experiences in urban settings and the program is centered around four areas of study: Curriculum, Educational Environment, Instruction, and Professionalism. While pursing the M.Ed., students simultaneously work toward a teaching certificate in grades 7-12 in the following content areas: Biology, Chem- istry, Earth and Space Science, English, Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics, Physics, and Social Studies. A K-12 certification can be obtained in Spanish and German. The program features both online and evening classes until the final clinical semester of the program.
