EDUCATION DOCTORATE KU’s Education Doctorate in Transformational Teaching and Learning is designed to help educators transform education, one student and one classroom at a time. While traditional Ph.D. programs prepare grad- uate students for conducting research in a specialized area of educational practice, this doctorate is designed for the career educator – the individual who envisions their career as a lifelong practitioner-scholar in their classroom or educational setting, working with children and adults to improve lives. As a practitioner-scholar doctorate, it is intended to affect change from within schools, educational settings, and within the educator themselves-rather than from a top-down, administrative level. This doctorate will provide educators of all experi- ences and backgrounds with the tools to transform their classrooms and practices. While housed in the Department of Secondary Educa- tion, the Ed.D. represents a collaborative effort between faculty in the Colleges of Education, Visual and Perform- ing Arts, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. Curriculum is taught by faculty members who are experts in both ped- agogy and social justice initiatives. They are recognized academics, professional practitioners, and researchers who bring a broad range of experiences to both the classroom and the field. • Flexible coursework for working professionals • Program designed to complete in three years • Cohort model • Campus-based with some courses offered online or in hybrid formats. • All research done at the pace and according to the needs of the educator’s classroom, school, or educa- tional setting in which they work • Unique curricular design with dissertation support throughout the program For application requirements, please visit: www.kutztown.edu/graduateadmissions FACULTY PROGRAM CONSTRUCT QUESTIONS: Office of Graduate Admissions Boxwood House Ph: 610-683-4200 E: graduate@kutztown.edu APPLICATION
