DSW

DOCTOR OF SOCIAL WORK LEADERSHIP AND EDUCATION The Doctor of Social Work (DSW) program prepares academicians who are able to lead and leaders who are able to teach. Pursue your passion for social justice through enhanced leadership and the transformative opportunity to explore and develop yourself as a scholar and practitioner. Kutztown University and Millersville University have partnered to offer a DSW program focused on prepar- ing leaders and educators for career advancement in agencies, government, and higher education. Social Work practitioners with an MSW will be prepared to take on the challenges the industry will face in practice and in preparing future experts in the field. A hybrid program with a residency component at our Pennsylvania university campuses, the DSW program is designed with the working professional in mind. Whether you live in Pennsylvania or anywhere beyond, learn with the best in your profession and prepare to continue to make a difference. • Eight session program: Two courses per session for fall, spring, and summer. • Online program. • Experiential Praxis in leadership and/or education. • Face-to-face learning component (one weekend) per session, located alternately at Kutztown and Millersville. The social work curriculum is taught by faculty members who are recognized academicians, professional practi- tioners, and researchers. They bring a broad range of experiences to the classroom which includes work in public welfare, aging, United Way administration, addic- tions, vocational rehabilitation, child welfare, healthcare, global social work, disabilities, social policy, and mental health.
