Kutztown University Goal Strategy University Name: Kutztown University Strategy Name: Recruitment Metrics Impacted: Student Success Metrics Enrollment, Affordability Goal: Increase freshmen enrollment to 1,600 and increase transfer enrollment to 575 by fall 2021, increase graduate enrollment by 1.25% annually, with additional focus on continuing education RATIONALE Student recruitment is essential to boosting excellence and enhancing diversity in an institution's student body, as well as, a foundation for financial sustainability. Increasing the new transfer enrollment from 505 to 575 is achievable based on historic transfer enrollment, and will add an additional 70 headcount to university enrollment and increasing the freshmen cohort from 1,400 to 1,600 is achievable given available projected high school graduates in KU’s eight county region as well as the increase focus on NJ recruitment, and will add an additional 200 headcount to university enrollment. SUPPORTING INITIATIVES • Support enrollment through increased and more strategic promotional/outreach efforts. • Continue to promote alumni courses • Financial Aid Optimization – Effect recruitment and awarding, with the goal of effecting yield, in conjunction with increased investment in institutional student aid. • Increase High School visits and bus trips • Increase prospect generation (SAT/ACT/PTK name buys) • Increase focus on urban and out-of-state recruitment • Joined the Common Application • Transfer Housing Discount - Offering a housing credit to transfer students who have completed a 2-year community college degree • Pittsburgh Promise - The Preferred College Partners Program strengthens relationships between The Pittsburgh Promise and post-secondary institutions that provide additional financial aid and robust support services for Promise Scholars. • English Language Partnerships – Continued with Northampton CC and new with ELS/West Chester University • Gear Up Program recruitment • Academic programs offered in partnership with community colleges and surrounding school districts • Continuing education and curriculum development for corporate partners • Seek out new, non-traditional audiences SUPPORTING PARTNERSHIPS Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Consultant Partner with the KU Foundation to promote alumni courses; community colleges and high schools to promote articulation agreements; PASSHE to promote the common app.
