Email us at alumni@kuf.org Tana Reiff ’73 has written a book for her Hopes and Dreams series. “Amala’s Hope (A Family from Syria)” is historical fiction about immigrant experiences from education publisher ProLingua Associates, Brattleboro, Vt. William Ribble ’73 , a former UPS executive, was named mayor of Estero Village, Fla. Terry Underkoffler ’76 was inducted into the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame. James Bruton ’83 , a former student of Dr. Carlson R. Chambliss, discovered two asteroids and named one after Chambliss. Joseph Lacey ’88 , a communication design graduate, completed all the artwork for a new adult coloring book by Crayola, “Crayola Signature Coloring Songbook: Lyrics by Lennon & McCartney.” Dr. Carl Sheperis ’89 was named interim president and CEO for the National Board for Certified Counselors and Affiliates. Kelly Carruthers ’92 earned her National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards in School Counseling. Based on this achievement, she was invited to present at the American School Counselors Association annual conference in Los Angeles this past year. Matt Carlson ’99, M’03 a school psychologist at Orefield Middle School, won a Superintendent’s Award in the Parkland School District. In addition, Clemson University chose Carlson to be interviewed for an article in its Clemson World Magazine . Darian Allen ’05 was named director by RLB Accountants and earned credentials as a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Christina Franko ’07 has been an art teacher in the School District of Philadelphia for the past 10 years. She was one of 76 teachers nationwide who was selected to participate in the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classroom Program. Carolyn McNamara ’07 was named director of communications by the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges. Dr. Torry Reynolds ’09 was named dean of the Math, Science, and Technologies Division at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston Salem, N.C. Rick Jayne ’12 was honored with an outstanding doctoral degree student award in the College of Science at Virginia Tech. Emily Shaffer ’14 won the 2018 Halstead Grant for new jewelry businesses. Kathleen Wojtowicz ’14 was a legislative intern from January through March in U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright’s office. She is currently a PR specialist at the National Parks Conservation Association. Rushi Amin ’15 has been employed as an Assurance Senior at EY. Matt Lewis ’16 is a self-employed educational-media producer and consultant who works with middle ’70 s | ’00 s | ’10 s | ’80 s | ’90 s | CLASS NOTES school, high school, post-secondary and informal education institutions. He is currently a doctoral student at Lehigh University. Anthony Marchetto ’16 is an account executive with the Seattle Mariners. Musfrah Rana ’16 has been employed as an Assurance Senior at EY. Taylor Strothmann ’16 was appointed head women’s bowling coach at Felician University. Matt Stefancin ’18 is a flight operations mechanic at Boeing, and works on fighter jets. Dr. Lisa Frye ’90, M’93 is the chairperson for the Computer Science and Information Technology Department at KU.
