Robinson ’68 is enjoying retire- ment from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission by administering several groups on Facebook, including one on Colonial Revival Houses, America’s most enduring architectural style, and another for Lester Breininger Pottery Collectors, of interest to those who treasure the work of this Pennsylvania German teacher (KSC ‘57), potter and collector. In addition, for the last 10 years, Robinson has designed an original bulletin cover every week for Market Square Church in Harrisburg. He and his daughter, Sarah Robinson Darnley ‘97, majored in French and studied abroad. Dennis Pearson ’69 is an East Penn Township supervisor, overseeing township planning and zoning issues. He is the township’s representative to Carbon County Council of Government, voting represent- ative to Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors, and is acting treasurer of the East Penn Township Recreation Board. He is the former chair and current executive secretary for the National Space Society’s Chapter Assembly, an independent nonprofit, nonpartisan educational membership organization dedicated to the creation of a spacefaring civilization. Additionally, he serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Labor History Society and the Steelworkers Archives, and treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Allentown North East. He is former president of the East Allentown Rittersville Neighborhood Association, the Allentown Community of Neighborhood Organizations, and the President’s Council of the Allentown Crime Watch. Pearson is a retiree of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and as a teacher who served multiple school districts in Penn- sylvania and New Jersey. He coached baseball and basketball for the East Side Rams Athletic Association in Allentown and became president of the Allentown Youth Organization United to Help (A-Youth). After this experience, he became a PIAA Baseball umpire and was JV coach of the Brandywine Heights High School baseball team in Topton, Pa. 1970s Carla (McIlhaney) Messinger ’71 is a Pennsylvanian of Lenape descent recognized nationally and internationally for her pioneering work as a Native American cultural educator. As director of Native American Heritage Programs, she was a Pennsylvania Commonwealth Speaker for three years and continues to present lively interactive programs and diversity training on the history, lifeways, culture and contributions of the Lenape and other Native American groups, reaching people of all ages and ability levels in schools, colleges, businesses, government and non-government organizations. Her full- color, award-winning book “When the Shadbush Blooms” is now a paperback from Lee and Low Books. Rose Bateman Buscarini ’75 recently published a book, “Reflections,” a compilation of her favorite Wordpress blog, enhanced by personal full-color photos. 1980s Dave Steckel ’82 recently wrote a book, “The Fisherman: Leadership Traits to Win the Game of Life.” Currently, Steckel can be heard doing college football game day analysis for radio and ESPN TV. Prior to that, he served as head football coach at Missouri State University. Before his hiring at MO State, Steckel spent 14 years with the University of Missouri, seven of those as the defensive coordinator under Hall of Fame Coach Gary Pinkel. At Mizzou, he was a two-time nominee and 2014 finalist for the Broyles Award. His other coaching stops include Rutgers University, the University of Toledo, Lehigh University, Dickinson College, the University of Minnesota, Ball State University, and Miami University of Ohio. Larry J. Cohen ’85 authored “The Quirky World of Parking, Four Decades of Observations, One Parking Space at a Time,” a parking primer 101 master class interlaced with crazy and fascinating stories covering all aspects of the profession. Cohen is a parking executive with 40 years in the industry, who has been responsible for parking at stadiums, universities, hospitals, and a municipality; including managing parking during the inauguration of U.S. Presidents Bush and Obama in Washington, D.C. He has served on the boards of the International Parking and Mobility Institute, Middle Atlantic Parking Association, and Pennsylvania Parking Association, and is currently the executive director of the Lancaster Parking Authority in Lancaster, Pa. John D. Wissler ’85 is chairman of the board of Mount Gretna School of Art and the former president of the Heliker- LaHotan Foundation. David J. Reimer Sr. ’85 released “Cars of Cuba” through Crave Press; available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and IndieBound. The book is filled with more than 200 color photographs of classic American cars taken on a 2018 trip to the island. Over the past 30 years, Reimer had scores of articles and dramatic imagery published in journals, consumer magazines, textbooks, and newspapers. He resides in Leesport, Pa., and is an information technology generalist at Kutztown University. For info: www.cravepress.com. 1990s Marlyn (Linski) Kissner ’90 was named vice president of membership and community relations at the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. Previously, she was executive director of both the Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corp. in Lehighton, Pa., and the Pocono Chamber of Commerce in Stroudsbug, Pa. She lives in Franklin Township with her husband, Magisterial District Judge William Kissner.
