MSW Field Profiles 2021-22

MSW Emily Carmichael 2021 Agency Name: Muhlenberg School District Profile: The Muhlenberg School District provides a wide variety of academic services to students ages K - 12 and their families. Muhlenberg School District focuses on the academic status of their students, as well as their overall wellbeing. They implement a variety of programs and services to promote and advance the human rights of their students and families. Field Placement Responsibilities: I will serve Muhlenberg School district through tasks and activities that will benefit their students. I will get to know students by attending their arrival and dismissal to and from school. I will also be observing student's routines and social relationships on lunch duty at the district. I will take what I have learned from these activities and apply them to social work practice when facilitating interviews, sessions, and meetings with the students. I am assigned to participate in developing activities for students in the form of play therapies. I will also be involved in the alternative education program for students who struggle with being at school, as well as attending board meetings, home visits and other meetings to improve the lives of students. Future Goals: A short term goal of mine is to receive my certificate in School Social Work, so that I may work in the school environment. A DSW is a long term goal of mine to teach as a Professor at a University. Department of Social Work
