MSW Field Profiles 2021-22

MSW Brenden Lindsey 2021 Agency Name: Southwest Middle School (Reading School District) Profile: Southwest Middle School is one of five schools within the Reading School District. The school's focus is on educating all students and assisting them in achieving successful educational outcomes, with the help of the community members, educators, and parents. Their mission is to transform student potential into reality. Field Placement Responsibilities: Many of the students attending Southwest Middle School are dealing with the everyday struggle of poverty. My responsibilities will be to assist the school social worker with her daily tasks, such as having my own individual case load. My responsibilities will require me to assess students and family needs, address attendance issues, and identify other barriers that may be hindering their educational journey. I will also be researching community resources and communicating my findings to families so they can utilize the additional services available. Future Goals: In the future, I plan to get my LSW and work as a school social worker for a few years. While doing that I will be working toward my LCSW and one day transition to private practice.
