MSW Field Profiles 2021-22

MSW Sarah Lytle 2021 Agency Name: Community Action Lehigh Valley Profile: Racial and Ethnic Justice. Community Action Lehigh Valley is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve quality of life by building a community in which all people have access to economic opportunity, the ability to pursue that opportunity, and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. The organization utilizes mezzo - and macro - level interventions to address inequality and poverty. Field Placement Responsibilities: As the Racial and Ethnic Justice program works to address systemic racism in the Lehigh Valley, intern responsibilities are shaped around supporting the initiatives designed to address racial disparities. Tasks at the CALV REJ include learning about the programs and operations at the macro - level to address disparities in the Lehigh Valley; facilitation of Generation Next and SHE program in local schools; strategic planning; fund development; community organization; and advocacy. Future Goals: My future goals include obtaining my MSW and license and working as a community organizer and advocate in a macro level organization that addresses social injustices.
