MSW Jasmine Foster 2020 Agency Name: WellSpan - Philhaven Profile: My name is Jasmine Foster, I have a bachelor ’ s degree in psychology and currently in my first year of the Master of Social Work Program here at Kutztown University. I am currently placed at WellSpan Philhaven, a mental health hospital in Mt. Gretna, Pennsylvania with the DBT Team. Field Placement Responsibilities: As a dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) intern. Dialectical behavior therapy is a highly effective evidenced based treatment for clients who struggle with emotional regulation. As a DBT intern, I will attend a dialectical behavior therapy training that will allow me to eventually earn a certification as a DBT therapist. Furthermore, I will co - lead and eventually lead DBT groups. I will also have the opportunity to take a caseload of clients within the DBT program. This internship will give me experience in learning and practicing an evidenced based therapy. Future Goals: My future goal is to work with military members as a LCSW with a focus in trauma and PTSD. Being a veteran, I am passionate about continuing to help this population. Department of Social Work
