MSW Field Profiles 2020-21

MSW James Flemming III 2020 Agency Name: Haven Behavioral Hospital of Eastern Pennsylvania Profile: The agency is focused on acute and mostly short term mental health care. Those experiencing mental health crises can elect to commit themselves or they may be committed involuntarily. Our agency's goal is to get the individual back to their baseline functioning, and to discharge them with a support network in place to ensure their safety and wellness. Field Placement Responsibilities: I am responsible for the development and monitoring of adherence to treatment plans, as well as developing and following through with discharge plans. I am responsible for completing psychosocial assessments with new clients, and contacting family (if permission is given by the client) to collect collateral information regarding the client, their resources and supports, and what their baseline functioning looks like. Future Goals: I plan to pursue a career in social work related to behavioral health, and will continue to consider returning to school to earn my DSW. Department of Social Work
