MSW Emily Showalter 2020 Agency Name: Concern Profile: Concern is a human services organization dedicated to providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and behavioral health services to children and their families. Concern offers a growing array of foster care, adoption and permanency, community based, behavioral health, and residential programs that help children grow and reunify with their biological family or find their place with a “ forever family. ” Field Placement Responsibilities: For my placement, I am interning as a foster care caseworker and I complete home visits (in - person and virtually) with clients and their foster family to complete a safety assessment and ensure all the children ’ s need are being met. I also engage with the client ’ s county caseworker and adoption caseworker to ensure progress is being made toward the client ’ s goal. Finally, I complete client ’ s quarterly and six - month review reports to document client ’ s progress in the foster home and to discuss goals. Future Goals: Although I am unsure of what I want to do in the future, I know I want to work with children. I have interest in school social work, criminal justice, and now, completing home visits with families. Department of Social Work
