MSW Field Profiles 2020-21

MSW Katherine Poupos 2020 Agency Name: Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth Profile: The agency is a county child welfare agency and its focus is to ensure safety, permanency and well - being of children. Field Placement Responsibilities: My field responsibilities are within the adoption and permanency unit. I will assist in providing information to biological families and prospective resource families on adoption or alternative permanency options. I will assist in completing Child Profiles, Family Profile and PLC/ adoption home studies. I will observe court hearings both in Juvenile and Orphan's court. I will attend home visits with adoption/permanency caseworkers and observe how they handle their cases as related to their job function. Future Goals: My future goals are to obtain my MSW and get my LSW. I would like to transition either into another position within child welfare (currently an ongoing worker) or potentially transition into school social work. Department of Social Work
