MSW Field Profiles 2020-21

MSW Carlie Mills 2020 Agency Name: Kutztown University Social Work Department Profile: The Kutztown University Department of Social Work is conducting a research study titled “ Access to Mental Health Services in Rural Pennsylvania ”. This study focuses on the vulnerable populations of children 18 years and younger and older adults 65 and older; our team is explore the barriers service providers and users face when obtaining services in rural populations. Field Placement Responsibilities: As a research assistant, I have had the opportunity to facilitate a focus group with service providers, recruit service providers, and research various mental health policies. This semester I hope to conduct individual interviews with mental health service users, research the different levels of care for children and older adults, and explore various methods to recruit mental health service users. Future Goals: For my future, I hope to work within the aging population after obtaining my master's degree. Department of Social Work
