MSW Field Profiles 2020-21

MSW Marina Meyers 2020 Agency Name: Truth for Women Profile: The Truth Home is a 90 - day emergency stabilization shelter program for survivors of human trafficking. The Truth Home provides shelter, food, utilities, clothing, personal hygiene supplies for all incoming survivors. In addition, The Truth Home provides on - site case management services as well as life skills training, mental health services, medical services and transportation. Field Placement Responsibilities: My responsibilities at The Truth Home involve running weekly groups with the women of the home, meeting with each woman every other week for one on one counseling sessions, and planning their individualized service plans weekly to create new goals with the women. I should have an understanding of the mission and values of the home and I will complete appropriate trainings as my placement continues (i.e Crisis training, sexual abuse, trauma). I will participate in the intake process for assessing new residents and I will also implement service plans, safety plans and behavior plans. While working within The Truth Home, I will be utilizing a strength based approach on all the work I do. Future Goals: My future goals are to work as Behavior Health Specialist at either a school or hospital. I plan to take my licensure exam and receive my LSW soon after graduation.
