MSW Field Profiles 2020-21

MSW Jaime Malandra 2020 Agency Name: Bethlehem Health Bureau Profile: The Bethlehem Health Bureau is dedicated to serving members of the Bethlehem community through various public health initiatives. Their programs offer an expansive range of services including issue related to environmental health, parent and newborn support, clinical services and COVID - 19 contact tracing investigations. Field Placement Responsibilities: I feel very fortunate for my placement at the Bethlehem Health Bureau, as I will have ample learning opportunities through the various initiatives I have been assigned to assist with. Perhaps my most immediate responsibility will be to complete appropriate training to assist with the COVID - 19 contact tracing efforts conducted through the Bureau. I will also be involved in conducting risk assessments for potential lead poisoning in Bethlehem resident's homes. The majority of my time will be spent assisting my Field Instructor with developing an initiative to embed social work into the Bethlehem Police Department. I am very much looking forward to collaborating with law enforcement and community partners to foster an effective communication and referral system to best serve callers. Future Goals: As of now, I feel most passionate about working with individuals and families living in poverty. I am also considering pursuing my LCSW after graduation. Department of Social Work
