MSW Tara Mahoney 2020 Agency Name: Schuylkill County Children and Youth Services Profile: Schuylkill County Children and Youth provides both in - home and out - of - home services to children and their families that promote safety, permanency, and well - being of children. Field Placement Responsibilities: My chosen area for my field placement is Family Group Decision Making which is a practice that strives to empower families to come together to make decisions about maintaining children safely with family or parents to prevent placement into foster care and or to help plan for a youth ’ s transition to adulthood. My responsibilities at my field placement are to conduct interviews and observations on the micro, mezzo, and macro level with clients, providers, and state and local liaisons, participate in trainings pertaining to the Family Group process. Additionally, I will be observing and practicing social work skills pertaining to groups by attending and facilitating family meetings as well as coordinating pre - conference meetings and follow up meetings with families Future Goals: My goal is become a licensed social worker and pursue certifications in the area of school social work and play therapy and counsel children in the school or private practice setting.
