MSW Field Profiles 2019-20

MSW Kelly Baldwin 2019 Agency Name: Valley Youth House (VYH) Profile: VYH is the catalyst for youth to achieve their desired future through genuine relationships that support families, ensure safe places, and build community connections. Programs include: emergency shelter, employment services, in-school programs, LGBTQ services, life skills development, mentoring, permanency services, street outreach, substance abuse, transitional housing, and therapeutic services. Field Placement Responsibilities: My role at Valley Youth House is to focus on staff development and community outreach. The staff development and training process uses organizational structures and procedures to facilitate access to learning, education, and training for staff. Community outreach refers to efforts that connect the agency's ideas or practices to the public. Community outreach is extremely important for nonprofit organizations to increase volunteers and donations to help ensure the success of programs and services. Future Goals: After graduation I plan obtain my license. I have interest in working in the healthcare field with the aging population. Department of Social Work
