EVALUATION: FEEDBACK & RESULTS Of the 370 people who attended the conference, 171 completed and returned the conference evaluation questionnaire. The responses were collected and analyzed to ensure the quality of future conferences, and will be taken into account for future conference programs and proceedings. Based on the collected responses, 40 of the respondents were graduate students, 94 undergraduate students, 7 faculty, and 30 reported as others (not attending or working for Kutztown University). Approximately 63.2% were affiliated with the KU Department of Social Work, 2.9% were affiliated with the KU Criminal Justice Department, 2.9% were affiliated with the KU Psychology Department, 7% were from outside agencies, and 16.4% reported as other or community members. Over three quarters ( 71.9% ) of the respondents heard about the conference from their course instructors. The results indicated that 96.6% of the respondents rated the speakers they heard as excellent or very good. 96.4% of the respondents indicated that the information gained from the sessions was congruent with the main theme of the conference; 98.8% of the respondents rated the conference as well organized; 90.1% of the respondents rated the presentation sessions offered at the conference as excellent or very good. 99.1% noted that the speaker were knowledgeable about the theme of the conference; 99.2% of the respondents indicated that the discussions held after the speakers’ presentations were satisfactory. 88.9 % of the respondents indicated that the time allotted for each session was sufficient. The results further indicated that 87% of the respondents gained awareness and understanding of the local/global organizations responding to human needs from attending the conference. Finally, asked if they would attend and/or recommend future conference to others, 79.2% of the respondents indicated that they would attend a future Annual Conference on Social Work in the Global Environment at KU and would recommend the conference to others. Qualitative Results & Comments Themes Drawn From qualitative responses, including potential future themes and overall conference needs: Substance Abuse, Elder/Geriatric Care, Environmental Justice, Child Welfare/Rights, Criminal Justice System , People with Cognitive & Physical Disabilities, Mental and Behavioral Health , Immigration, Homelessness, Trauma informed practice/care, Poverty, Human Trafficking, Global Racism, Global Social Work Education, DBT vs. CBT, Burnout & Secondary Trauma Prevention, Domestic Violence, Crisis Intervention, Status of Women, LGBTQAI, Veterans, HIV/AIDS , Youth Self-Determination: Teen vs Parents, Collaborative work with other professions, Maternity Leave, Medical Social Work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, TBI: Impact on family, Case management, Global Truancy K-12, “Fight against misinformation”, Government, and Torture.
