BSW Abby Thorius 2022 Agency Name: CONCERN Profile: CONCERN is an adoptive and foster care facility that provides family counseling services as well. They bring hope, offer opportunity, and inspire change. They encourage growth and promote positive healthy lives. Field Placement Responsibilities: As an intern I work with the intake coordinator to receive referrals for possible foster children. Once received we enter the child's information into a computer application. When receiving referrals, we look at which parents have availability in their home, and if a child may be a good match for that given parent. We also receive referrals from parents and/or CYS workers. Future Goals: My future goals are to become a mental health counselor for young adults. I want to incorporate animal assistance into my practice because I am very passionate about animal therapy. Department of Social Work
