BSW Field Profiles 2021-22

BSW Maya Evans 2021 Agency Name: KU Women's Center and LGBTQ+ Resource Center Profile: The KU Women's Center and LGBTQ+ Resource Center, located in the Boxwood House, strive to give students a place to gather resources, take part in events, and socialize. They are considered campus safe spaces. At its core, the Women's Center is a place focused around gender equity and inclusion. The LGBTQ+ Center is diversity - focused and is centered around serving students in the LGBTQ+ community. Field Placement Responsibilities: My role at the inclusion centers will be to help supplement the programs already in place. I will be working with students to help provide them with additional programming and resources to serve them more accurately. Additionally, I will be spreading our message of intersectionality to the campus community and beyond through projects such as hosting my own radio show on Kutztown University Radio on behalf of the centers and running a community - wide campaign to encourage local businesses to sign on to become visible "all - inclusive establishments ”. Future Goals: I hope to obtain my MSW with a concentration in school social work. I aspire to become a school social worker so I can provide support to children and advocate for them and their families. Department of Social Work
