BSW Elizabeth Cohen 2021 Agency Name: Berks County Children & Youth Services Profile: My name is Elizabeth Cohen, and I am a senior completing the Baccalaureate Social Work program at Kutztown University. I am receiving my work study experience at Berks County Children & Youth Services in Reading Pennsylvania. The mission of the agency states, “ to protect children and assure their physical and emotional well - being as provided by law, and to preserve, strengthen and empower their families. ” Field Placement Responsibilities: The roles I experience as an intern in the Out - of - Home Placement department at Children & Youth Services are as a professional student upholding the NASW Code of Ethics while taking notes, observing my Field Instructor, Task Supervisor, and other social work professionals in my department. I am asked to assist professionals with the duties of completing and filing paperwork on cases of families as well as learning how to write professional documents. I attend home visits to observe the professional way they explain and deliver intervention services to the families served by the agency. Future Goals: I would like to achieve feeling comfortable with the process of the goal of the agency, and to observe while conducting myself with confidence in the practice as a social work professional in the field.
