BSW Field Profiles 2021-22

BSW Maricela Sandoval 2021 Agency Name: The Salvation Army of Reading Profile: The Salvation Army ’ s main goal is to serve “ the most people, meet the most needs and do the most good ”! Every location offers different services that are specific to the community ’ s needs. The Reading Corps office offers a food pantry, supportive housing services, emergency assistance, after school programs for students, utility assistance, and an intensive case management program. Field Placement Responsibilities: My current field placement activities include client assessments, goal assessments, and monitoring overall client progress for the supportive housing program. This program provides funding for permanent housing to individuals who are chronically homeless and/or disabled. These tasks ensure the clients are taking the proper steps to improve their specific life circumstances. Every plan is formulated to meet their unique needs. In addition, I have observed family sessions, crisis situations and have learned how to properly file/ document client interactions. Future Goals: My future goals include attaining an MSW degree. I would love to work with single, low - income mothers or victims of domestic violence. Department of Social Work
