BSW Field Profiles 2021-22

BSW Skyler Mener 2021 Agency Name: Aspire to Autonomy Profile: My name is Skyler Mener and I am a senior BSW social work student at Kutztown. I am interning at Aspire to Autonomy. Aspire helps victims of human trafficking heal from their ordeal as well as connect them with the resources needed to get them back on their feet and become independent. Field Placement Responsibilities: I have several responsibilities at Aspire. Firstly, I work at Aspire ’ s safe house, which is located within the Lehigh Valley. At the safe house I am in charge of working one on one with clients, assessing their needs, developing goals, and practicing active listening when they feel comfortable enough to talk. I am also going to be helping with Aspire ’ s Freedom Fest in October as well as developing a trauma informed presentation for November. Future Goals: After I get my BSW I am planning on obtaining my master ’ s degree and eventually would like to become a licensed clinical social worker and have my Department of Social Work
