BSW Field Profiles 2021-22

BSW Jazalyn Horta Sanchez 2021 Agency Name: Berks County Children and Youth Services Profile: The mission of the BCCYS is to protect children and assure their physical and emotional well - being as provided by law, and to preserve, strengthen and empower their families. I am grateful to be serving my internship at the In - Home Department located on the 11th floor. In this department, our main goal is to explore and provide all options so that the family may remain intact. Field Placement Responsibilities: As an intern caseworker, I work cooperatively with various families to develop a Family Service Plan. This plan aligns with the agency's recommended services to the family and the expectations made of the participants. These services help to assure that even high - risk situations receive the proper services and monitoring, thereby avoiding the placement or further abuse of the children in the home. I empower families to make positive changes to that they may improve their overall level of functioning. Future Goals: My future goal is to work full time at BCCYS after graduation. I want to help families achieve their optimum level of functioning while prioritizing the safety and well - being of all children. Department of Social Work
